How to Share a Google Drive Link (Easiest Way in 2024)
In this article, we will show you how to share a Google Drive link. Simply follow the steps below.
Share a Google Drive Link
Below are the steps to share a Google Drive link.
1. Search for Your Document in Google Drive
You can use the search bar to find the specific document you need by typing its name and pressing enter. This will display the document in the search results.
In our example, we are looking for a document we refer to as “Event Guidelines.”
2. Access Share Options by Right-Clicking on the Document
Right-click on the selected document in Google Drive to bring up a contextual menu. Then, hover over the ‘Share’ option in this menu to reveal additional options in a side menu.
From here, click on the ‘Share’ option that appears in the side menu to open the sharing settings.
3. Enter Email Addresses to Invite Collaborators
In the sharing settings window, there’s a field to enter email addresses. Type the emails of those you wish to share the document with and press the ‘Enter’ key. For example, we will add Jonathan Lim as a collaborator to our ‘Event Guidelines’ document.
4. Choose Access Levels for the Recipients
Decide and set the level of access for the recipients, such as viewing, commenting, or editing permissions. This ensures that everyone has the right access to our “Event Guidelines” according to their needs. For example, let’s set Jonathan Lim as an Editor.
5. Send the Document Directly or Create a Shareable Link
After adding all the details, choose to either send the document directly to the emails provided or create a shareable link. Click on the ‘Send’ button if you want to send the document directly through email.
But if you want to create a shareable link, click the ‘Copy Link’ button. You can then paste this link wherever you wish, such as in an email or on social media.
